Troy Davis was appointed Director of Bands at Aragon High School in San Mateo at the beginning of the 2005 school year.  He has previously taught at Parkway Heights Middle School in South San Francisco, St. Timothy School in San Mateo, and Drew High School in San Francisco.  Mr. Davis earned his Bachelor's Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and his Master's Degree in Music Education from Notre Dame de Namur University.  


    He has taught many summer music programs including many years Summer Music at  Stanley and San Mateo Youth Arts Camp and is guest conductor of the Holy Names Concerto Festival and Cazadero Performing Arts Camp.  


    In addition to teaching and conducting, Mr. Davis is a professional oboist and his principal instructors were John deLancie, former Principal Oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Pamela Smith, Oboist with the San Francisco Symphony. He has performed as a soloist with the Napa Valley Symphony, Gold Rush Chamber Orchestra, and the Aragon Wind Ensemble in addition to having performed with numerous celebrated artists including Robin Williams, The Grateful Dead, The Drifters, Michael Tilson Thomas, and The San Francisco Symphony.
